Google introduces new selfie video login feature

Google has introduced a new selfie video login feature.

Operativ Media reports that this feature provides users with another option to log into and recover their accounts due to forgotten passwords or lack of access to their preferred devices.

The company will allow users to set up verification by recording a short video with head movements capturing multiple angles.

Google will then store the recording and use it to verify live videos uploaded by users during subsequent login attempts.

Google stated that the selfie video is stored with the user's consent, and the user has the option to delete it from their Google account at any time.

The company noted that unless the user wishes to share the video for additional use cases, it will be used solely for login purposes.
