Portuguese side Sporting have strengthened their squad with a new signing.

Operativ Media reports that the Lisbon club has signed a contract running until June 30, 2031, with 20-year-old Australian international midfielder Nestory Irankunda.

The player previously played for English club Watford, where his existing contract was set to run until June 30, 2030.

Last season, the Australian footballer made 42 official appearances, scoring four goals and providing five assists. Transfermarkt values the player at €10 million. According to Talking Sporting, the Portuguese club paid €17 million for the transfer.
