Newcastle Plans to Sign Georgia National Team Striker
English club Newcastle is interested in signing Villarreal forward Georges Mikautadze.
Operativ Media reports, citing Spanish outlet Fichajes, that the Spanish side plans to raise the 25-year-old Georgian player's release clause from €60 million to €75 million. The Spanish club's move aims to complicate the player's departure in the current transfer window. Nevertheless, Newcastle is willing to pay €55 million for the forward.
The Georgian footballer's current contract with Villarreal runs until June 30, 2031. He joined Villarreal from Lyon in the summer of 2025. In the 2025/26 season, the striker recorded 17 goals and 6 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.
The Transfermarkt portal estimates the Georgia international's market value at €30 million.
