Erdogan and Trump Discuss Iran-US Tensions
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump have held a telephone conversation.
Operativ Media reports that during the call, the leaders discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and the United States, as well as regional and global developments.
President Erdogan highlighted the importance of diplomacy amid rising tensions between Iran and the US, stating that Türkiye will continue to support peace efforts.
Emphasizing the necessity of making maximum use of diplomatic avenues regarding the tensions between Tehran and Washington, the Turkish president reaffirmed Ankara's continued backing for peace efforts.
The phone call also covered the latest situation in Gaza and the peace process. Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed out that actions by the Israeli leadership targeting Palestinians have increased at a time when the transition to the second stage of the peace process in Gaza is targeted. He stated that Türkiye will continue its efforts to secure lasting peace in the region.
The Turkish leader also expressed continued support for steps toward the reconstruction of Gaza.
