Azerbaijan's Tourism Potential Showcased at Two International Events in Malaysia
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) and four local tourism industry partners have represented the country at the "PATA Travel Mart (PTM) 2026" international tourism exhibition held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Operativ Media reports that Azerbaijan was featured with a national stand at the exhibition, one of the leading tourism events in the Asia-Pacific region. Tourism opportunities and products were presented to foreign market representatives, alongside business meetings with potential partners.
"PATA Travel Mart 2026" gathered companies operating across leisure, luxury, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism. Participants from Europe, the CIS, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, East Asia, Africa, and the Pacific region included travel agencies, tour operators, and other industry representatives.
Meetings held during the exhibition focused on promoting Azerbaijani tourism products across diverse markets, forging new partnerships, and expanding existing business ties.
Additionally, the ATB, alongside local partners, took part in the "World Islamic Tourism & Trade Expo (WITEX 2026)" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Organized by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATA), "WITEX 2026" brought together government officials, leading tourism companies, and international market participants. The event centered on tourism cooperation within the Islamic economy, advancements in specialized tourism software products, and networking with local and international suppliers.
The exhibition also covered the development of halal tourism, showcasing halal travel experiences, products, and services presented by tourism companies and destinations from various regions.
