President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Operativ Media reports that the congratulatory letter reads:

"Dear Mr. President,

On the occasion of the momentous anniversary—the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence—I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you and, through you, to your friendly people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.

The current level of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian friendly relations, which boast rich traditions, is gratifying. Our political dialogue, reciprocal high-level visits, and cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres are vital aspects of our strategic partnership. I would particularly like to highlight our fruitful, long-standing cooperation in the energy sector.

I highly appreciate the outcomes of your working visit to Azerbaijan this April and our meeting. Regular meetings and contacts, alongside our mutual support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our countries, are undoubtedly key factors strengthening our interstate ties.

Active high-level dialogue creates a favorable foundation for deepening our cooperation across various fields, particularly in trade, economic, humanitarian, agricultural, investment, and other areas. We will continue to provide humanitarian support to the friendly people of Ukraine.
