In a statement to Operativ Media, MP Rizvan Nabiyev quoted President Mirziyoyev's words, “We will jointly develop the potential of the Trans-Caspian Corridor, increase the efficiency of logistics infrastructure, and stimulate transportation,” identifying this declaration as one of the most important areas of future cooperation.

The MP emphasized that this demonstrates economic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is entering a new stage:

“Azerbaijan is an important transit hub connecting Central Asia, via the Caspian Sea, with the South Caucasus, Türkiye, and Europe. Uzbekistan, meanwhile, is a Central Asian state with significant economic, industrial, and demographic potential. Combining these capabilities creates new economic opportunities across the broader Eurasian space.”

Highlighting President Mirziyoyev’s statement, “We will intensify efforts to establish a joint fleet in the Caspian Sea,” MP Nabiyev noted that transport and logistics cooperation is moving beyond general intentions toward concrete infrastructure and institutional projects.

Addressing projects in the transport sector, President Ilham Aliyev stated that work toward the implementation of the Zangezur Corridor is continuing actively. The head of state emphasized that the project in the main part of Azerbaijan is expected to be completed next year and noted that relevant work has also begun in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

It was also highlighted that Azerbaijan is reconstructing and modernizing from scratch sections of the existing railway line stretching approximately 400 kilometers from Baku to the Armenian border. The Nakhchivan section of the railway is approximately 200 kilometers long. These projects will constitute an important branch of the Middle Corridor.
