President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Sabah football club on qualifying for the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Operativ Media reports that a post to this effect was shared on the President's X account.

The post reads:

"I heartily congratulate Sabah football club on securing a spot in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League by winning a magnificent victory.

It brings special joy and pride that a newly established team has achieved such a great success in a short period of time. The fact that our clubs have earned the right to compete in the main stage of the world's strongest club tournament for the second consecutive time is another clear indicator of Azerbaijan's progress in all areas and our country's position as a sporting nation.

I wish Sabah club new victories and success in the upcoming matches!"
