Jeyhun Bayramov receives newly appointed Malaysian ambassador
Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has received the newly appointed Ambassador of Malaysia to the country, Aznifah Isnariah Binti Abdul Ghani.

During the meeting, the ambassador presented a copy of her credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The minister congratulated the ambassador on her appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
The sides exchanged views on the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-Malaysia bilateral relations, as well as multilateral cooperation. In this context, they reviewed opportunities to develop cooperation in trade, economy, tourism, education, and other fields, and to increase joint efforts in areas of mutual interest. Azerbaijan's transit-logistics capabilities and its role in energy security were also discussed.
Touching upon cooperation within international organizations, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance of mutual support between Azerbaijan and Malaysia within the UN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the D-8. In this context, it was noted that the friendly relations between the two countries are accompanied by mutual support and solidarity on multilateral platforms.
During the conversation, preparations for the upcoming Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to be held in Baku this year were discussed, and it was noted that Azerbaijan will host the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit in 2027.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also briefed the ambassador on the current situation in the region, as well as the restoration and reconstruction work being carried out in the post-conflict period.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the ambassador stated that she would spare no effort during her diplomatic tenure to further develop friendly relations and expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Malaysia.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
