Peru Government Severs Ties with Iran

The Peruvian government has decided to sever diplomatic relations with Iran.
Operativ Media reports that the South American country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released information regarding the decision.
"The Government of the Republic of Peru has decided to sever diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran," the statement said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that the decision is particularly related to the situation in the Middle East and Iran's actions in the Strait of Hormuz.
The ministry also emphasized that the severance of diplomatic relations does not entail the suspension of consular ties.
