During August 2026, the State Border Service successfully carried out operations to ensure the reliable protection of the state border and to combat smuggling, illegal migration, and illicit drug trafficking:

According to the Press Center of the State Border Service speaking to Operativ Media, 17 people were detained during the month for violating the state border. Among them, six were citizens of Azerbaijan, six of Iran, two of Pakistan, two of Algeria, and one of Turkey;

As part of measures against illegal migration, six people were detained while attempting to cross the state border using forged date stamps, fake passports, or documents belonging to others;

Fifty-seven people were detained for violating border regime rules, and appropriate measures were taken against them;

In the fight against crime, 317 wanted persons were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities. Additionally, 764 people banned from leaving the country were prevented from departing, while 35 individuals banned from entering were blocked from entering the country;

As a result of anti-drug trafficking operations, 266 kilograms and 873 grams of narcotics, along with 5,236 various pills, were seized and removed from circulation (including one case where 28 kilograms and 500 grams of drugs were intercepted being transported via an unmanned aerial vehicle);

Measures to ensure the reliable protection of the state borders are ongoing.
