Since the end of the Patriotic War in 2020, 437 Azerbaijani citizens—including civilians, military personnel, deminers, journalists, and reconstruction workers—have fallen victim to landmines and explosive ordnance, resulting in 73 deaths and 364 severe injuries.

Operativ Media reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated this in his address to the participants of the 4th International Conference on Humanitarian Demining on the theme "Humanitarian Demining for Urban Reconstruction: Establishing Standards of Excellence for Safe Settlements."

“In total, more than 3,500 of our citizens have suffered from landmines since the start of Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan. Among them are children, women, and other civilians whose lives have been tragically impacted by this hidden threat,” the head of state emphasized.
