The large-scale 3rd Fidan Hajiyeva International Opera Festival is underway in Azerbaijan. 

Operativ Media reports that the festival, dedicated to the 50th birthday and 30th anniversary of the artistic career of People's Artist and renowned opera singer Fidan Hajiyeva, will run from September 7 to December 7 in Baku, various regions of Azerbaijan, and abroad.

The festival program will feature opera and chamber music nights, symphonic concerts, masterclasses, literary and artistic meetings, and educational events. As part of the international program, Fidan Hajiyeva is also scheduled to perform in Paris, London, Milan, and Minsk.

The festival is designed not only as a series of concerts but also as a large-scale cultural and educational platform aimed at promoting classical music and supporting young talent. A special highlight of the program, the "Young Voices Call to the Future" project, aims to discover young vocalists and create new opportunities for their professional development.

The festival's opening ceremony will take place on September 7 at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic.

A few days before the opening, a special concert program was presented for media representatives. The concert featured selected masterpieces of Azerbaijani and world classical music.

During the evening, People's Artist Fidan Hajiyeva performed Uzeyir Hajibeyli's romance "Sevgili Canan" and the famous "Habanera" from Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen."

Performances by young vocalists also held a special place in the concert program. Gulsum Khalilova performed Vincenzo Di Chiara's "La Spagnola," Niyazi's "Arzu," and Ruggiero Leoncavallo's "Mattinata." Anar Khanmammadli performed Tofig Guliyev's "Sene de Galmaz," while Rauf Mammadzade performed Ernesto De Curtis's "Torna a Surriento."

Farhad Khammadzade performed Asgar's song "Akhtarib Tapdim Seni" from Uzeyir Hajibeyli's operetta "Arshin Mal Alan," as well as the famous "O Sole Mio." Laman Babazade presented Tofig Guliyev's song "Arzular."

One of the memorable moments of the concert was the performance of the "Girls' Chorus" from Uzeyir Hajibeyli's operetta "Arshin Mal Alan" by the "Mezzo" children's choir. The evening concluded with Muslim Magomayev's famous song "Azerbaijan."

Speakers at the event emphasized that the 3rd Fidan Hajiyeva International Opera Festival holds special significance in Azerbaijan's cultural life. Konul Huseynova, a professor at the Baku Academy of Music named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, and Honored Artist Dilara Aliyeva noted the festival's importance in promoting classical music, supporting young talents, and developing international cultural relations.

The three-month festival will not only keep the rich traditions of Azerbaijani opera art alive but will also serve to discover new talents, bring classical music to a wider audience, and promote the national musical heritage internationally.

The grand finale of the festival will take place on December 7 at the Heydar Aliyev Palace with a gala concert titled "Carmen: Half a Century of an Artist's Life."

The concert will feature the State Symphony Orchestra named after Niyazi, conducted by People's Artist Yalchin Adigozalov, alongside a well-known Spanish flamenco group. In addition to selected excerpts from Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen," the program will include masterpieces of Azerbaijani and world classical music.

Bringing together the traditions of Azerbaijani opera art with modern trends, the 3rd Fidan Hajiyeva International Opera Festival will unite artists, young performers, and music lovers on a single artistic platform.
