Neftchi has signed a new forward.

Operativ Media reports, citing the club's press service, that the "Black and Whites" have signed Nigerian forward Adeleke Akinyemi from Finnish club Gnistan. 

Having previously played in various European leagues, center-forward Akinyemi has shown significant development, particularly over the last three years. After winning a silver medal with Ilves in Finland two years ago to qualify for the UEFA Europa League, Adeleke has featured in all 22 matches for Gnistan in the Finnish championship this season. 

The forward, who was the top scorer in the Latvian higher league in 2017, also demonstrated his goalscoring prowess at Gnistan, leading the Veikkausliiga with 13 goals.

The 28-year-old player signed a 2+1 year contract with Neftchi today after passing a medical examination. He will wear the number 26 jersey for the team.
