Azerbaijan and Vietnam's ROX Energy Global have discussed wind and solar energy projects.

Operativ Media reports, citing the Ministry of Energy, that the discussions took place during a meeting between Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Pham Minh Tuan, CEO of ROX Energy Global.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of a 200 MW wind energy project in Azerbaijan with the company. Measures such as identifying sites for the project, preparing a feasibility study, and conducting wind measurements were reviewed.

They also exchanged views on the possibilities of implementing a solar energy project in Nakhchivan. It was noted that the development of renewable energy projects in Nakhchivan is carried out in line with the region's "Green Energy Zone" concept and "green energy" export plans. The sides touched upon land availability for the potential solar energy project, integration into the power grid, and the sale of the electricity to be generated. In this regard, information was provided on the work being done to connect Nakhchivan with Azerbaijan's main power grid, as well as to establish a Nakhchivan-Turkiye electricity connection. The strategic importance of developing infrastructure that will enable energy exports from Nakhchivan to Turkiye was emphasized.

It should be noted that in 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of renewable energy was signed between the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and ROX Group JSC.

The minister stated that during the meeting, the work done on the 200 MW wind energy project and the possibilities of implementing a solar energy project in Nakhchivan were discussed.

The sides also exchanged views on strengthening Nakhchivan's energy system, establishing an electricity connection with Turkiye, and the possibilities of exporting the green energy to be produced to the Turkish market.
