Foreign Ministry: Two Azerbaijanis killed in drone attack on ship in Black Sea
On September 9, a foreign cargo ship named "TEDY" with Azerbaijani citizens on board was subjected to drone attacks in the Black Sea.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Operativ Media, reports have been received that Azerbaijani citizens Aslan Aliyev and Asim Gasimov were killed, while Imran Novruzov and Rauf Aliyev were injured as a result of the attack.
The injured have been hospitalized in the city of Chornomorsk, Ukraine.
Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating on the matter with Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions, as well as the competent authorities of the relevant countries. Measures are being taken to return the injured citizens to the country after their medical examination and treatment, provide necessary consular assistance, and carry out procedures regarding the repatriation of the bodies.
We express our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and wish the injured a speedy recovery.
We once again urge Azerbaijani citizens to refrain from traveling to regions where military operations are ongoing or where the security situation is unstable, from engaging in labor activities in those areas, or from working on transport vehicles, including ships, operating along these routes.
