The Iranian rial has fallen to a new historic low against the US dollar. On Tehran's open market, the exchange rate for $1 has surpassed 2.5 million rials.

This comes just 27 days after the previous record low of 2.2 million rials, which was recorded on September 2.

Before the war, $1 was exchanged for approximately 1.7 million rials on the open market.
