U.S. President Donald Trump plans to announce on Sept. 30 South Korea's plans to invest approximately $200 billion in American projects, of which $54 billion could be directed toward the Alaska LNG liquefied natural gas export project.

According to Operativ Media, sources told Bloomberg about this.

Trump has repeatedly expressed support for Alaska LNG, but the project's implementation is complicated by its high cost and scale, which includes the construction of an approximately 1,200-kilometer gas pipeline.

According to Bloomberg's assessment, South Korea's investments could be crucial for implementing the project to transport gas and subsequently export most of it to Asia. Seoul's funds are expected to be directed toward both the construction of the export terminal and the pipeline.

The agency recalled that a trade agreement between the U.S. and South Korea, which envisages $350 billion in investments in American projects, was signed in 2025.

On Sept. 30, Trump is expected to announce the first group of projects to be funded under the agreement with Seoul.
