A delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev is on an official visit to the Russian Federation.

During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held with the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Gutsan.

Expressing gratitude for the special attention and warm hospitality shown to the Azerbaijani delegation, Kamran Aliyev noted the historically deep cultural, political, and legal ties between Azerbaijan and Russia. He emphasized that thanks to the warm, friendly relations between the political leaders of the two countries, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin, the partnership has grown and strengthened to the level of a strategic alliance. This, in turn, creates a favorable foundation for productive working relations between the law enforcement agencies of both states.

Expressing satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the prosecution authorities of the two countries, Kamran Aliyev noted that these relations cover two main areas. Along with studying law enforcement practices and new legislative institutions of both countries, cooperation is steadily developing in providing legal assistance within the framework of specific criminal cases and the extradition of criminals.

For his part, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Gutsan, emphasized that high-level cooperation has traditionally existed between the prosecution authorities of both countries.

Thanking Kamran Aliyev for accepting the invitation to pay an official visit, his Russian counterpart shared his views on expanding areas of cooperation. Discussions were then held on specific criminal cases.

At the end of the meeting, a Cooperation Program for 2027–2028 was signed between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

Confidence was expressed that the document will contribute to further strengthening interaction between the prosecution authorities of the two countries, as well as expanding practical cooperation and the exchange of experience in areas of mutual interest.
