The 13th trilateral meeting between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Yasar Guler, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Chikovani, has been held in the city of Shusha.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Defense to Operativ Media, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the trilateral meeting. Recalling with fond memories the meetings held in Türkiye last year and in Georgia the year before, Colonel General Z. Hasanov specifically noted that the sincere friendly relations between the heads of state play an invaluable role in the high-level development of relations between our countries.

He stated that thanks to their joint efforts, the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Türkiye trilateral cooperation format has already turned into a successful regional cooperation mechanism that can serve as an example for other countries, making a great contribution to peace, security, and stability.

The defense ministers of Azerbaijan and Georgia once again expressed their condolences to their Turkish counterpart regarding the military personnel who died in a recent plane crash, respectfully sharing the grief of the Turkish people.

During the meeting, it was noted that our peoples have lived in conditions of good neighborliness and friendship for centuries, and today, relations between our states continue to develop on an upward trajectory.

It was emphasized that cooperation based on mutual trust is of great importance in terms of ensuring the well-being of our peoples.

The meeting highlighted the challenges of the modern era, as well as the importance of combining efforts to combat factors that could pose a threat to the security of our region.

The defense ministers particularly emphasized the importance of expanding the scope of trilateral exercises and training.

Confidence was expressed that the expansion of trilateral cooperation in the field of defense would be beneficial not only for our countries but also for strengthening peace, stability, and security in the region.

The parties emphasized the importance of the "Eternity" and "Caucasian Eagle" exercises, as well as other joint drills conducted with the participation of military personnel, reiterating that these events play an important role in cooperation, exchange of experience, and increasing the defense capability of our armies.

At the same time, the ministers discussed cooperation in the military, military-technical, military-educational, and military-medical fields, and held a detailed exchange of views on proposals regarding the prospects for expanding trilateral relations, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

At the end, a protocol on the results of the trilateral meeting was signed, and a press conference was held for media representatives.

At the conference, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov emphasized the usefulness of the meetings, expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of cooperation development between our countries, and noted the parties' intention to further expand and deepen these relations in the future.
