State Security Service issues new warning on AI-powered cyber fraud
Organized cybercrime networks operating outside the country continue to launch new and sophisticated cyberattacks by leveraging artificial intelligence technologies.
The State Security Service (SSS) reported this to Operativ Media.
According to the SSS, analyses show that these groups target civil servants, employees of various enterprises and organizations, as well as ordinary citizens, using artificial intelligence algorithms and specialized software. Despite numerous warnings and awareness campaigns, some citizens still fall victim to these scams.
"Cybercriminals send allegedly 'urgent' and 'important' messages to targeted individuals based on specially crafted scenarios, and then direct the victims to fake accounts operating under the guise of law enforcement agencies or other official bodies to deceive them. Through this method, they demand that these individuals transfer funds to foreign accounts and carry out various illegal tasks.
Emphasizing the critical importance of remaining highly vigilant in the digital environment, citizens are urged to immediately contact law enforcement agencies if they encounter any suspicious requests, demands, or messages," the statement emphasized.
