President Ilham Aliyev receives President of International Judo Federation
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received President of the International Judo Federation Ladislau-Marius Vizer on October 3.
Operativ Media reports that the head of state thanked Ladislau-Marius Vizer for his support in developing judo in Azerbaijan, as well as for holding the World Judo Championships in Baku, noting that this is the second time the country is hosting this prestigious sporting event. President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the championship would be organized at a high level.
The head of state noted that judo is one of the most popular and medal-winning sports in Azerbaijan, highlighting the medals won by Azerbaijani judokas in prestigious competitions.
The Azerbaijani President touched upon the role of modern sports infrastructure established not only in the capital Baku but also in the regions in achieving these sporting successes.
Expressing his gratitude to the head of state for the reception and the high-level organization of the World Judo Championships in Baku, Ladislau-Marius Vizer extended his congratulations on the medals won by Azerbaijani judokas in various sports events.
The guest thanked President Ilham Aliyev for his support for the development of judo in the country.
During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan is an active member of the International Judo Federation and exchanged views on the prospects of successful cooperation between the organization and the Azerbaijan Judo Federation.
At the end of the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev presented the "Dostluq" (Friendship) Order to Ladislau-Marius Vizer.
The guest expressed his gratitude for the high appreciation of his activities.
It should be noted that Ladislau-Marius Vizer was awarded this order by a decree of the President of Azerbaijan for his efficient activities and contribution to the development of judo both in the country and internationally.
