Edgaras Jankauskas has left his post as head coach of the Lithuanian national football team.
Operativ Media reports that the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) has announced the news.
The decision to part ways with Jankauskas was made following a meeting between LFF President Edgaras Stankevicius, the federation's technical director Deividas Semberas, and the coach himself.
Following an open discussion, the parties mutually agreed to terminate Jankauskas's contract.
Jankauskas had served as the national team's head coach for four years.
The decision on his departure comes after a 1-0 defeat to the Azerbaijani national team in Baku. Due to this loss, Lithuania's chances of winning the group have significantly decreased.
