Nobel Peace Prize laureate announced

The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Navanethem “Navi” Pillay.

Operativ Media reports that the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award was presented to her for her efforts in strengthening international law and promoting peace.

This year, 287 candidates competed for the prize, including 208 individuals and 79 organizations.

The award ceremony will be held in Oslo on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death.

The Nobel Peace Prize is worth 12 million Norwegian kroner, approximately 1.2 million US dollars.
