Manchester City has not abandoned its pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández, and talks between the parties are set to resume in the coming days.

According to the report, the sustained interest in signing the Argentine player comes at the personal request of head coach Enzo Maresca. The player himself is also reportedly keen on the move to work with coach Enzo Maresca once again.

To speed up the player's exit, Chelsea's sporting directors have involved renowned agent Jorge Mendes, who previously took part in the midfielder's move to the London club and is now playing a role in ongoing negotiations. Club co-owner Behdad Eghbali is also interested in facilitating the matter. Enzo Fernández has been playing for Chelsea since January 2023, and his current contract runs until the summer of 2032.

According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value stands at €100 million.
