Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said during a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev that cooperation between the two countries is developing successfully across various fields.

According to Operativ Media, the head of state emphasized that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan consistently support each other in all international organizations where they participate bilaterally.

Touching upon the potential of the Joint Investment Fund, President Ilham Aliyev stated that specific investment areas have already been determined for approximately $160 million of the fund's $500 million capital.

"I think we will use these funds soon and identify new areas of cooperation," the head of state noted.

Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to Uzbekistan for its support in the restoration of Karabakh. He noted that Uzbekistan was the first country to provide practical assistance in Karabakh's reconstruction, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev was the first president to extend such aid.

The head of state also highlighted that Uzbekistan's experience in the automotive industry is being transferred to Azerbaijan. According to him, the initial project has already been implemented, and work is currently underway to establish a full production cycle, with an investment of more than $80 million planned in Hajigabul.

The president added that a second plant is currently under construction and is expected to give a significant boost to the development of Azerbaijan's automotive sector.

Ilham Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan approaches cooperation with Central Asian countries with great responsibility and enthusiasm.

The head of state also mentioned that the Zangezur corridor project is being actively implemented in Azerbaijani territory. He noted that the project is scheduled for completion in mainland Azerbaijan next year, while implementation work has already begun in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

President Ilham Aliyev also pointed out the growing volume of freight transported from Uzbekistan through Azerbaijan and stressed the importance of speeding up the construction of a ferry for Uzbekistan.
