Over 55 kg of narcotics smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

The smuggling of 55 kilograms and 105 grams of narcotics and 1,000 psychotropic Methadone M-40 pills from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented in the service area of the "Horadiz" border detachment of the State Border Service (SBS) Border Troops.

Operativ Media reports that this was stated by the SBS Press Center.

As a result of border search and operational measures, one Azerbaijani citizen attempting to smuggle 26 kilograms and 5 grams of narcotics along with 1,000 psychotropic Methadone M-40 pills into the country was detained on August 21, and three Azerbaijani citizens attempting to smuggle 29 kilograms and 100 grams of narcotics were detained on August 22.

Operational and investigative measures into both incidents are ongoing.
