UEFA head Aleksander Ceferin has stated that he has no intention of running for the presidency of the International Association Football Federation (FIFA) in the elections to be held next year.

​Operativ Media reports that the 58-year-old Slovenian official made the remarks during an interview on the "Rest is Politics" podcast. He noted that he has no interest in leading FIFA and loves his current role as well as his work at UEFA. Ceferin added that not seeking the position further strengthens his authority and the trust placed in him.

​The FIFA presidential election is scheduled to take place in Morocco in March 2027, with the body currently led by Gianni Infantino. Aleksander Ceferin has served as UEFA president since September 2016, has been re-elected to the post twice, and also serves as a FIFA vice-president.
