Iran has sent a letter to the UN Security Council regarding economic pressure imposed by the United States.

Operativ Media reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the US administration's actions in the letter as illegal and criminal.

He emphasized that the UN and all governments bear a legal and moral responsibility to condemn these actions by the US.

Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that Washington considers economic pressure against Iran to be the most effective tool.

Additionally, Hegseth noted that military strikes in the Strait of Hormuz are not ruled out.
