The agency's sources stated, "Currently, 175 bodies have been recovered. A large number of people, including both locals and tourists, are missing. According to the latest information, 476 people from 28 countries are still considered missing."

Notably, the flooding occurred in northern Nepal on the morning of August 26. According to preliminary reports, the flood wave was triggered by a snow and rock avalanche on the Nepal-China border, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of the Rasuwagadhi border crossing.
