Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Vaškevičius has expressed his support for the Qarabag football club following their defeat in the UEFA Conference League play-offs.

Operativ Media reports that he wrote about this on the social network X.

"Although Qarabag did not win last night, no result can overshadow this team's achievements. I express my deep respect to Qarabag FK and head coach Gurban Gurbanov, whose leadership over many years has brought unforgettable European victories and made an exceptional contribution to Azerbaijan's football culture. Such legacies live forever," the ambassador noted.

Based on the results of the two matches in the UEFA Conference League play-off round, Qarabag FK was defeated by the Dutch club Twente (1:0, 1:4). With this, Qarabag's streak of 12 consecutive seasons in the main stage of European cups has come to an end.
