All opponents for the 36 teams participating in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League in the 2026/27 season are known. However, some of the world's most valuable players have been left out of Europe's most prestigious tournament this season.

Operativ Media reports that the Transfermarkt portal has compiled a list of players who will not play in the Champions League season but have a transfer value of more than €70 million. Six of the 11 players on the list play for London's Chelsea. The ranking is topped by Morgan Rogers, valued at €110 million, who recently joined the "Aristocrats". The second and fourth places are also shared by representatives of the London club.

8. Kenan Yildiz (Juventus) — €75 million
9. Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest) — €70 million

Ten of the 11 players on the list play in the English Premier League. Most of them, including members of Chelsea, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest, will not compete in European competitions this season. Nevertheless, Eli Junior Kroupi, Adam Wharton, and Kenan Yildiz will continue their European campaigns in the UEFA Europa League.

As a reminder, the draw for the league phase of the 2026/27 Champions League season took place on August 27. The matches of the first round of the tournament will be held on September 8-10.
