Turkish and Somali militaries free ship hijacked by pirates

The vessel "MV Lutuf," which had been seized by pirates, has been freed following a 10-day joint operation by Turkish and Somali military forces.

Operativ Media reports, citing foreign media, that the Cameroon-flagged cargo ship was attacked on August 17 near Somalia's Puntland state with a 10-member crew on board, including six Indian, two Serbian, one Turkish, and one Georgian national.

During the operation, 14 pirates were neutralized and four boats were destroyed, with no casualties reported among the military forces. The vessel has now resumed its journey, and the situation is fully under control.
