Sabah head coach Valdas Dambrauskas has spoken about his team qualifying for the league stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Operativ Media reports that the Lithuanian specialist told AzTV in an interview that this success is one of the greatest achievements possible in football.

"We qualified for the league stage. This is one of the greatest achievements possible in football. We wanted this very much. It is probably the big dream and desire of every player and every coach.

We have to fight and battle against our opponents. Of course, it will not be easy. But we need to know how to fight and find every way to do so," Dambrauskas said.

The head coach emphasized that the support of the fans is of great importance to the team:

"I would be very happy. I would like all our fans, everyone who supports us, to take their places in the stands. I want them to create a magnificent atmosphere, just like in the match against Hapoel. It was largely thanks to their support that we found the strength and won.

I hope the fans will support us not only in the Champions League but also in the domestic league. Because with their help, we can achieve even greater results."

Dambrauskas also touched upon squad limitations. He stated that Sabah will compete on three fronts—the Azerbaijani championship, the cup, and the Champions League—at least until the winter break.

"In the Champions League, you can only register 17 foreign players. Changes can be made later. I think that at least until winter, we will compete on three fronts—the Azerbaijani championship, the cup, and the Champions League—with this squad," he added.

The Lithuanian manager also emphasized that his team is not afraid of any opponent:

"We are not afraid of anyone. Whatever the results, the main thing for us is to try to show our best game.

We must not forget what brought us here: hard work and the high performance we show in training every day. We will try to perform at a high level again and achieve good results."
