On August 31, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Operativ Media reports that Masoud Pezeshkian recalled with pleasure his meetings and telephone conversations with the Azerbaijani head of state. He emphasized that the Iranian state and people highly appreciate President Ilham Aliyev's stance, support, condolences, and the humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan during this difficult situation for Iran, expressing his gratitude once again.

Noting that there are excellent opportunities for developing relations, the Iranian President stated that they are interested in expanding ties with Azerbaijan in all areas.

Emphasizing that relations between the two countries are brotherly and friendly, Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran intends to maintain good relations with all neighboring countries.

For his part, the Azerbaijani head of state emphasized that Azerbaijan's assistance under these circumstances was an example of brotherhood.

President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan supports resolving the situation regarding Iran through peace and negotiations.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in various fields.
