In recent days, the UK's "The Independent" and "The Guardian" newspapers, as well as the BBC Russian Service, have published inaccurate reports about the Republic of Azerbaijan aimed at misleading public opinion.

Operativ Media reports that this was noted in a statement issued by the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MEDIA).

The Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated that these articles, based on an obviously biased approach and speculation, give the impression of being part of a targeted information campaign aimed at damaging the country's international image.

The authors of the articles took no steps to investigate the topic in a balanced and objective manner, nor did they seek the official position of the other side, choosing instead to present the public with theses based solely on their subjective opinions. This raises serious suspicions that the materials in question are politically motivated orders driven by the interests of certain lobby groups, which is deeply regrettable.

Appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that these matters are investigated and necessary steps are taken regarding such instances, which aim to cast a shadow over our country's sovereignty, domestic and foreign policy, as well as its international reputation.

We once again call on the aforementioned media outlets ("The Independent", "The Guardian", and the "BBC") to adhere to their declared professional principles, refrain from publishing biased, prejudiced, and inaccurate materials about Azerbaijan, and restore impartial information delivery in line with journalistic ethics.
