Ukraine and Poland are considering the possibility of launching a joint bid to host the football World Cup.

Operativ Media reports that Politico published this information, citing Ukrainian Youth and Sports Minister Matviy Bidnyi and Polish sources.

According to the report, the matter was discussed during an international conference in Gdansk. Bidnyi stated that the earliest available dates to host the World Cup are in the 2040s, and preparation for this prospect must begin now.

The Ukrainian minister also recalled the experience of the European Championship jointly hosted by Ukraine and Poland in 2012. According to him, hosting a major football tournament could help attract investors to the country.

However, Bidnyi emphasized that this is not yet an official bid. He noted that for the process to begin, the initiative must come from the sports community or federations, and subsequent steps will depend on their initiative.

The 2030 World Cup will be hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. In 2034, the tournament will be held in Saudi Arabia. The host of the 2038 World Cup has not yet been determined. The United States and Germany are also among the countries expressing interest in hosting the tournament.
