White House Believes Peace and De-escalation Talks in Ukraine Are Possible
The U.S. administration believes it is possible to simultaneously conduct negotiations on both a peace settlement and de-escalation in Ukraine.
Operativ Media reports that this was stated by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of the U.S. president, during a press conference following talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
Kushner noted that, alongside the major issues, it is important to discuss a number of other solvable matters aimed at reducing tensions.
He made these remarks while commenting on a meeting he and Steve Witkoff, the U.S. president's special envoy, held with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday.
“I think, of course, it is important to talk about the big issues. At the same time, there are some issues related to de-escalation that can be resolved,” Kushner said.
