Retired Lieutenant General Norat Ter-Grigoryants, the former commander of the Armenian Armed Forces, has renounced his Armenian citizenship.

Ter-Grigoryants, who led the Armenian Armed Forces in 1992, stated that he had applied to the Armenian consulate and surrendered his passport.
The lieutenant general criticized the policies of the Armenian authorities, explaining that he made the decision due to the current situation in the country. He also stated that he would never visit Armenia again.
