Iranian officials are not optimistic that a ceasefire in the conflict with Iran will be achieved before the US midterm elections in November.

Operativ Media reports that Bloomberg released this information on September 28, citing sources.

According to the report, no significant progress was made during the talks held in New York last week on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.

It is believed in Iran that there is a high probability of the conflict escalating further after the US vote.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated earlier this month that he is confident the war with Iran will end immediately after the midterm congressional elections in November, or even before the elections if possible.

The midterm congressional elections in the US will be held on November 3. In the elections, 33 out of 100 Senate members and all 435 members of the House of Representatives will be up for re-election.
