Roma has received permission from the capital's city administration to construct a new stadium.

Operativ Media reports that according to the Italian club, the new arena will have a capacity of 60,605 spectators.

In a statement, the club said the stadium project aims to create a modern sports arena for Roma and the city, while also contributing to the development and improvement of the local area.

Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri announced that construction is scheduled to begin in March 2027. According to him, the work is expected to take about two and a half years, with the stadium projected to be ready for use by the end of 2029.

Roma currently plays its home matches at the Stadio Olimpico, which is also shared by Lazio. That arena has a capacity of 70,634 spectators.
