More than 300,000 people have taken part in protests staged by public sector workers in France.

Operativ Media reports that during the demonstrations held in various cities across the country on September 29, participants demanded higher wages, as well as increased staffing and funding for public services.

According to reports, 70,000 people joined the rally in Paris, 30,000 in Marseille, 11,000 in Toulouse, 10,000 each in Lille and Bordeaux, and 8,000 each in Lyon and Orleans. 

No incidents were reported during the demonstrations.

The protests were organized following a call by eight leading public sector trade unions in France.
