Spain national team forward Lamine Yamal has commented on the match in which they defeated Croatia 4-1 in the UEFA Nations League.

Operativ Media reports that Yamal spoke about the team's upcoming goals after the victory.

“We must always enter the pitch fully motivated. We need to execute what the coach says and what we discuss among ourselves. I am very happy with the victory. We want to bring the trophy here, show it to the fans, win, and take it home. That would be amazing,” Marca quoted the player as saying.

Yamal also shared his thoughts on the Ballon d'Or award: “I don't just play for this Ballon d'Or. I play for myself, the fans, the upcoming season, and the national team so we can keep winning. I am not the one voting, and I don't even know who won. I have no idea. We just need to wait and keep playing.”

Notably, France Football magazine announced the nominees for the 2026 Ballon d'Or award on September 8. The award ceremony will take place in London on October 26.

Spain leads the standings with 6 points, while Croatia is in third place with 3 points.

In the third round of the Nations League, Spain will face the Czech Republic, and Croatia will play England. Both matches will be held on October 3.
