The European Union has opposed Georgia's bid to chair the OSCE in 2027.

According to Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, Tbilisi is interested in the chairmanship and is ready to cooperate with all member states of the organization.

However, the European Union has opposed Georgia's candidacy.

The portal notes that EU spokesperson Christian Wigand confirmed Brussels continues to support Cyprus's candidacy and is not discussing alternatives.

According to the publication, the Baltic states are particularly opposed to Georgia's candidacy.

It should be noted that the next meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council will be held in Lugano on December 3-4.
