Bayern Munich is planning to sign goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who currently plays for English club Fulham.

Operativ Media reports, citing Bild, that the Munich club is considering the 34-year-old German goalkeeper as a backup option for Jonas Urbig for the 2027/28 season.

Leno's contract with Fulham runs until the summer of 2027, with the London club holding an option to extend the deal for another year. However, the goalkeeper is reportedly open to returning to Germany, which would allow him to be closer to his family.

During his professional career, Bernd Leno previously played for Bayer Leverkusen. He initially joined the Leverkusen club on loan from Stuttgart before becoming their first-choice goalkeeper.

Leno transferred to Arsenal in 2018, spending four seasons with the club, and has been playing for Fulham since 2022.

The goalkeeper, who made his debut for the German national team in 2016, has earned nine caps for his country.

In the 2025/26 season, Leno conceded 51 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.

Transfermarkt values the player's market value at €6 million.
