An agreement in principle has reportedly been reached for the sale of French club Nantes.

Operativ Media reports, citing AFP. According to the report, Waldemar Kita, who has owned the club since 2007, announced earlier this month that he had received three bids for the purchase of Nantes and confirmed that negotiations with one of the potential buyers were at an advanced stage.

Kita bought Nantes 19 years ago for €10 million. The sale price of the club, which was relegated to Ligue 2 in 2026, is reportedly €100 million.

The identities of the buyers have not been disclosed, though they are described as "European investors." According to sources, the consortium is led by Paulo Tavares, a former football agent.

Earlier, Ouest-France reported that David Beckham, the former England and Manchester United midfielder and current co-owner of Inter Miami, could be among the potential buyers of Nantes.

Nantes currently sits 15th in the Ligue 2 standings with 7 points after 7 matches.
