Bayern Munich considering Phil Foden transfer
Bayern Munich is interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden.
Operativ Media reports, citing Teamtalk.
According to the report, despite the 26-year-old English footballer's commitment to Manchester City, the fact that the club faces severe sanctions for violating financial rules could make his departure possible.
Manchester City was previously found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges brought against them for violating Premier League financial rules. The final punishment for the club has not yet been announced. Possible sanctions include relegation, points deduction, and a heavy fine.
According to the source, Bayern Munich is the main contender for Foden. The Munich team's head coach and former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is interested in the player's transfer.
It is reported that if Foden is open to a move, Bayern will make an official bid for him. It was previously noted that Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham have also shown interest in the player, while AC Milan is evaluating a potential transfer. Saudi Arabian clubs are also reportedly monitoring the situation.
Foden has been playing for Manchester City since July 2017. His contract with the club is valid until June 30, 2030.
The midfielder scored 13 goals and provided 8 assists in 54 matches during the 2025/26 season.
Transfermarkt values the player's market value at €70 million.
