Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro intends to contact national team head coach Jorge Jesus to clarify the situation regarding Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 41-year-old Al-Nassr player decided to continue playing for the Portuguese national team even after the World Cup and was called up for the UEFA Nations League matches.

However, Ronaldo did not feature in the match against Norway (2-1) in the second round of the group stage. According to media reports, he was expected to come on as a substitute in that game.

On September 30, it was revealed that Ronaldo had left the Portuguese national team camp. Media outlets later reported that the player would no longer play for the national team.

Ronaldo has made 234 appearances and scored 146 goals for the Portuguese national team. He won the European Championship with the national team in 2016 and has won the Nations League twice.
