Under the "Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Education between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China," 23 citizens of the People's Republic of China have been admitted to study at Azerbaijani higher education institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year.

According to information provided to Operativ Media by the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, the students will pursue master's and doctoral degrees at Baku State University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan Technical University, and Baku Slavic University under the Intergovernmental Scholarship Program (ISP).

The study programs will cover education, humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, as well as technical and technological fields.

The Intergovernmental Scholarship Programs aim to expand academic mobility between countries, increase opportunities for international education and scientific experience, and develop cooperation in higher education.
