World Championships: Four more Azerbaijani judokas join competition
The fifth day of competition at the World Judo Championships in Baku will take place on October 8.
Operativ Media reports that four judokas from the Azerbaijani national team will take to the tatami at the National Gymnastics Arena in the women's -70 kg and men's -90 kg weight categories.
In the women's -70 kg weight class, Sudabe Agayeva will face Spain's Ai Tsunoda Roustant in the 1/32 finals.
In the men's -90 kg category, Eljan Hajiyev will go up against Alexander Knauf of the United States, while Suleyman Shukurov will face Norwegian athlete Kornelius Eilertsen in the 1/32 finals.
Murad Fatiyev will begin his campaign in the 1/16 finals, facing the winner of the match between Yahor Varapayev (Belarus) and Theodoros Tselidis (Greece).
The preliminary rounds will start at 10:30, with the final block scheduled for 18:00.
The matches will be broadcast live on CBC Sport and Judo TV.
